Dr. Narendra S. Bhatt, M. D. Ayu. & B. Sc. from the University of Bombay has behind him 40 years of teaching, clinical, research and pharmaceutical experience.

After 11 years of teaching & clinical experience he joined industry. Over a period of 21 years in various capacities he rose to become CEO of Zandu Pharmaceuticals, one of the oldest & largest Ayurvedic production organizations in the country. Having keen interest in research he has evolved and developed unique models for product development and clinical research.

He at present is Adjunct Professor & Director for Research to College of Ayurveda, Bharati Vidyapeeth University, Pune. He is also Visiting Scientist & National Professor at Haffkine Research Institute, Mumbai.

He has been on the ‘Board of Studies, Faculty of Ayurveda in University of Bombay and has served on expert committees of several other organizations. He continues to be a referee and examiner for the post-graduate Ayurvedic and Pharma examinations of several Universities. he is on the Research Advisory Council of Bharati Vidyapeeth University; was on its Academic Council & Ethics Committee and is now guiding the faculty for research.

Dr. Bhatt has represented Ayurveda on several international delegations on behalf of the union government. He was a member of the Core Group for a project on Indigenous Knowledge for Health under Global Research Alliance funded by the World Bank.



He has to his credit more than 60 scientific papers, several articles and a jointly held patent.He has edited several volumes and contributed to many chapters. Extensively traveled ( travelled )both in India and abroad he has given more than 100 seminars and talks abroad on subjects related to Ayurveda.

He is closely associated with Indian Association for the study of Traditional Asian Medicine [IASTAM], Ayurvedic Drug Manufacturers Association [ADMA] and several others. He has successfully organized several important national and international meets on relevant subjects Dr. Bhatt is member of Consumer Complaints Committee of Advertisement Standards Council of India as an expert

Dr. Narendra Bhatt has represented Ayurveda on several international delegations on behalf of the Government. He was an expert member of the ‘Core Group’ for a project on Indigenous Knowledge for Health under Global Research Alliance funded by the World Bank.

Dr. Narendra Bhatt is honored with an ‘International Award’ & four ‘National Awards’.

Being a fourth generation Ayurvedic physician, he has always continued with his clinical practice.
